Top 25 High School Basketball Players in Washington

Washington State High School basketball has been underway for a couple of weeks so we decided to release our local player power rankings. These are who we believe to be the top 25 players in the state regardless of class or position. I’m sure this is going to stir up some debate. Enjoy.

1. Tony Wroten (So.) Garfield-PG–amazing all-around player, view a scouting report here, No.1 overall national recruit in the class of 2011

2. Josh Smith (Jr.) Kentwood-C–unstoppable offensively around the basket, excellent shot-blocker, No.1 overall national recruit in the class of 2010

3. Abdul Gaddy (Sr.) Bellarmine Prep-PG–committed to UW, No. 2 national PG recruit in class of 2009, excellent passer, view a scouting report here

4. Peyton Siva (Sr.) Franklin-PG–committed to Louisville, big time scorer, lightning quick, hopes to lead Franklin to a 4A title in his final season, we analyzed him a little here

5. Aaron Dotson (Sr.) Rainier Beach-SF–Committed to LSU, solid mid-range jumper, super athletic, out for 2-3 weeks with a knee injury

 
6. Steven Bjornstad (Sr.) Columbia River-F–Committed to Nevada, great shot blocker, athletic not slow or awkward like your typical big man
7. Christian Behrens (So.) Tahoma-F–6’6, averaging 23.7ppg, bright future ahead, only a sophomore
8. Marcus Tibbs (Sr.) Decatur-PG– in his 5th season after being granted eligibility with Decatur, lightning quick
9. Colton Christian (Sr.) Bellevue-F–has a consistent shot now, undecided on college, has an offer from Sacred Heart
10. Anthony Brown (Sr.) Shadle Park-SG–committed to WSU, also considered Gonzaga and Oregon St.

11-25:

11. Aaron Bright (Jr.) Bellevue-PG–leading scorer for Bellevue averaging 14ppg, has an offer from Eastern Washington

12. Sterling Carter (Sr.) Franklin–committed to Pacific University, out for the season with a knee injury

13. David Wink (Sr.)-Sammamish–committed to Northern Illinois, leading team with 14ppg

14. Corey Stern (Sr.) Rainier Beach- F/C–transfer from Colorado, large and dominant, currently has 8 D-1 offers on the table

15. Jeff Budinich (Sr.) Kentlake-F–committed to Montana State, 6′ 10″, leading team in scoring with 12.8ppg

16. Patrick Nyeko (Sr.) Seattle Prep-F–long wing-span, solid defender, 6′ 6″, averaging 10.8ppg

17. D’Vonne Pickett (Sr.) Rainier Beach-PG–committed to Eastern Washington, solid passer, really quick

18. Ben Eisenhardt (Sr.) Bainbridge-C–committed to Seattle University, leading team in scoring with 13.6ppg

19. Jeffery Forbes (Sr.) Federal Way-PG–committed to Eastern Washington, trying to lead his team to a 4A state championship this season

20. Brandon Durham (Central Kitsap)-F–great post presence, contains good solid post moves 

21. Eric Hutchinson (Sr.) Mark Morris-F–committed to Montana

22. Alex Schrempf (Sr.) Bellevue-F–son of Sonic great Detlef Schrempf, playing with a loaded Bellevue squad with Colton Christian and Aaron Bright

23. Taylor Hoffer (Sr.) North Kitsap-PF–considering WSU, has an offer on the table from Seattle U

24. Ryan Gilkey (Sr.) Woodinville-F–strong force inside, has only played in 1 game this season

25. Patrick Simon (Jr.) Ephrata-SF–committed to WSU, out for the season with an injury
