  • Eastside Catholic hired Jeremy Thielbahr as head football coach after the resignation of former Cougar quarterback Jason Gesser. Eastside Catholic football has struggled since the school has moved to Sammamish. Luring talent away from neighboring high schools like Skyline and Eastlake has proven to be difficult for the football program. Eastside Catholic also has hired a new head basketball coach after the resignation of  Steve Kramer. The Crusaders will welcome in Bill Liley who had previously coached at King’s high school.
  • Former UW softball star, Danielle Lawrie was featured on ESPN sports science. I learned two new things from this video. First, there is no such thing as a rising fastball in baseball. Second, Danielle Lawrie threw three perfect games as a Senior at UW. She’s good. 
  • Here is Phil Steele’s preseason All-Pac-12 team. Chris Polk and Jermaine Kearse make the first team. It’s a promising sign to see more and more Huskies on preseason lists like these, it provides hope in fans and inspires some confidence in the players.
