Nick Collision has quietly developed into one of the most underrated players in the NBA. He rebounds with precision and does it on a consistent basis and can finish by the basket even more consistently. Did you know, Collison finished 15th in league in rebounding (that’s more than Kevin Garnett by the way)? People fail to see that this guy almost averaged a double double this season. I could look at the box score every day and see solid production from Nick. He by far was the best performer on the team behind Kevin Durant.

He does all the dirty work, but does it in a clean way, unlike this guy. Collision would always be going for that loose ball, hustling from one end of the court to the other end, and playing strong defense. He, Durant, Jeff Green, and a future draft pick, will make up a young nucleus with only one piece left, a center; either Sene, Petro, or Swift. Nick Collision meshed really well with Durant and Green and this team chemistry will be carried over and will grow into the next season. The only weakness I see in his game is a solid post-up game, but I think that’s irrelevant because the Sonic’s offensive output usually comes from their perimeter players.

I think PJ Carlesimo would make a big mistake to cut down his playing time and not hand him the starting job. Collision deserves to earn a starting spot in the lineup next year.

Next year, big things will happen for this big guy.
